My9 Now Means Yankees Baseball Here in Buffalo (I Think)

Based on the number of people that get directed to the site by doing a web search looking for how they can watch Yankees games when they're on My9, I think I've become the official source on how to watch these games. Well, for those of you coming here looking how to see the game, I have great news for you:

The game should be on WNGS. FiOS = channel 5, TWC = channel 5/705, DirecTV = 67, Dish = 5

**Saw this on the WNGS website on 4/19 for Yankees/Jays game: We are aware that tonights New York Yankees game is not being broadcast on Verizon Fios. We are currently working with Verizon to get the game on air. We apologize for the inconvenience. Sounds like it's not on or maybe it's been fixed. Either way, it should be coming your way at some point.

According to their website they'll have the game. Enjoy!

Peace, love and Pinstripes,

J-Boogie

Much appreciated! It's been awhile since I've been able to catch a My9 game, especially after I went from DirecTV to FiOS (something I still regret to this day...can't wait until my contract is up!). Thanks for the post, I'm looking forward to the game tonight!

Buffalo is a Yankee city? I know it's closer to Pittsburgh, Cleveland, and Toronto, and the Mets (as they did when they started in the Sixties) have their Triple-A team there.

Then again, the Bills have always been in the same division as the Jets, and Jet fans are usually also Met fans and vice versa, so I can understand if Buffalonians tilt toward the Yanks.

Double J - not a Fios fan?? I loved it. Really hoping they get it into my new hood this summer. I was very glad to see WNGS brought back the NYY games. I was lucky on TWC b/c they showed them on a local channel but it really irked that I couldn't see them when I had Fios. Glad we can all watch them again.

Uncle Mike - hard to classify what baseball town this is. AAA team = Mets but if you go to the game you see a lot of Red Sox and Yankee gear, more so the Red Sox. Some Cleveland and Pitt, little Toronto. I think we're in 4 local markets but only get the Yankees and Mets games. I think the bulk of fans go with whichever way the wind blows.

Is tonights Toronto the first my9 game due to rain? Is there really a chance fios in bolo will broadcast?

Hey Paul - It is the first My9 game this year b/c of the rainout. Acording to the network's website they're showing the game tonight. Since FiOS carries WNGS I'm assuming it'll be on. I'd suggest checking the guide for tonight to verify.

I see wngs on channel 5 but some dumb movie the glory stompers is being shown here in Buffalo. Dang

Definitely not on FiOS tonight. Checked channel 5/WNGS, and it's still their usual campy movie programming. Dislike!

@J-Boogie - Most of my complaints with FiOS are the inferior DVR boxes. First of all, they don't seem to handshake well with HDMI, something which the tech admitted when he installed my set up. Second, the firmware in general is behind DirecTV in features as well. In my opinion, the picture quality isn't as good.

That's odd. It is on the WNGS channel on TWC. I wouldn't think a network would (or could) show different programming across different platforms in the same area. That's an odd one.

Doub;e J- I remember the handshake issues when i had FiOS. They haven't fixed that yet? Outside of that, I was a fan.

Odd, but it looks like they're working on it, if they haven't already.
