DVD Contest Entries

Chien-Ming Wang just delivered the first pitch to Aaron Miles (a strike), and with that chance to win the Essential Games of Yankee Stadium DVD box set has come and gone. I am giving away 5 copies of the box set and there are 8 participants, so the odds of winning are pretty good. Here are the questions with everyone's guesses (please feel free to double check for errors):

How many total runs will the Yankees and Cubs combine for in their 2 game series?

  • Brandon = 11, Craig = 17, Rob = 18, Alex = 18, Mr. Faded Glory = 19, Dean = 24, Darren = 24, Steve = 25

How many total hits will the Yankees and Cubs combine for in their 2 game series?

  • Brandon = 25, Mr. Faded Glory = 32, Craig = 33, Alex = 34, Rob = 35, Dean = 38, Steve = 40, Darren = 40

How many total strikeouts will the Yankees and Cubs combine for in their 2 game series?

  • Brandon = 12, Craig = 14, Mr. Faded Glory = 18, Alex = 20, Rob = 28, Darren = 28, Dean = 29, Steve = 40

How many total home runs will the Yankees and Cubs combine for in their 2 game series?

  • Alex = 2, Brandon = 3, Mr. Faded Glory = 3, Craig = 4, Darren = 4, Rob = 4, Dean = 5, Steve = 5

How many total walks will the Yankees and Cubs combine for in their 2 game series?

  • Alex = 4, Craig = 7, Brandon = 8, Rob =11, Dean = 11, Mr. Faded Glory = 12, Steve = 15, Darren = 20

And the tie-breakers:

How many autographs do I have in my collection?

  • Darren = 0, Rob = 27, Craig = 29, Brandon = 36, Alex = 60, Mr. Faded Glory = 76, Dean = 176, Steve = 202

The correct number of autographs I have in my collection is 255 so ties will be broken in the following order: Steve, Dean, Mr. Faded Glory, Alex, Brandon, Craig, Rob, Darren

I don't think we'll need the 2nd tie-breaker but here were the guesses for what will be the total # of points scored in Monday night's (April 6) NCAA men's national championship game?

  • Rob = 140, Alex = 210, Brandon = 171, Craig = 191, Dean = 163, Steve = 150, Darren = 198, Mr. Faded Glory = 115

Thanks to the 8 of you for entering. Good luck and I'll be in contact with the winners sometime after Saturday's game for your address. Thanks again.

Peace, love and Pinstripes,

J-Boogie

I can still win if tomorrows game has 7 runs, 16 hits, 19 strike outs, 1 home run, and 6 walks.

Ok. That's do able. So I kind of need a pitchers duel. Not a total shut down, but a 4-3 game where pettitte and burnett get 10 strike outs combined while Burnett is slightly wild.

I think a game with 19 strike outs could have 16 hits and only 7 runs if only 1 was a home run.

Well the good thing is you don't need to win them all, just one of 'em.

Bad news is you'd lose the runs, unless Alex wins something else. You'd lose HRs to Craig unless he wins something else. You also lose walks to Dean unless he wins something else.

You win with 16-18 hits, or 19 Ks so let's root for that! The hits are definitely doable.

Good luck!
